Qualification : BE - Electrical / Post graduate qualification in Eletrical Design & Detailed engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience :10-12 years Experience in the subject field of Design Engineering with a large size industrial construction company.
Job description:
- Preparation of basic & detailed Electrical arrangements as required, including SLD, during Pre Tender Stage & Post order Stage
- Undertaking technical feasibility studies and site investigations
- Supervising tendering procedures and putting together proposals, post extending design engineering supports
- Managing, supervising and periodically visiting contractors on site and advising on Electrical engineering issues, proactively, assessing their consequence,
- Overseeing the work of junior staff and mentoring throughout the charter ship process,
- Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients,
- Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve related design and development problems
- Managing budgets and other project resources, at respective ends
- Managing change, as the client may change his or her mind about the design, at any stage, and identifying, formalizing and notifying relevant parties of changes in the project; leading teams of other engineers, perhaps from other organizations or firms,
- Compiling, checking and approving reports,Reviewing and approving project drawings,
- Using a range of design computer packages for designing projects and undertaking complex and repetitive calculations,
- Scheduling material and electrical equipment purchases and delivery,
- Attending Client / Architect Technical meetings to discuss projects, especially in a senior role,
- Adopting all relevant requirements around issues such as CEIG Approvals, other related regulations, good engineering practices and safety on all work assignments,"
- Ensuring that a project runs smoothly and that the work gets completed on time and within budget,
- Correcting any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements prior to final evaluation and project reviews
- Cost effective design engineering for implementation during execution as and when require to improve safety, reliability and throughput"
- Developing related project specifications with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines
- Developing, testing and evaluating / Proof Checking theoretical designs,
- Discussing and solving complex problems with Cross functional teams, Sub-contractors, Suppliers and Customers,
- Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
- Preparation of Design reports & detailed specifications of Projects as and when required.
- Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design
